Continual Support of Cookies for Kids’ Cancer

First Heritage Mortgage Services (First Heritage) is committed to raising funds for Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to funding pediatric cancer research. Throughout 2018, the employees of First Heritage held several fundraisers for Cookies for Kids’ Cancer and raised $3,500 to support the organization.

Cookies for Kids’ Cancer was founded by a determined mother to help increase her young son’s odds in his fight against cancer. She had the idea to bake cookies to sell during the holidays. It was a larger-than-life event, and has been a huge success.

“Pediatric cancer is the #1 disease killer of children in the U.S. Two-thirds of children who do survive will develop long-term side effects, including secondary cancers and organ failure,” stated John Giordano, CEO of First Heritage. “Therefore, it is critical we find safer, more effective treatments, and it’s why First Heritage is joining the fight.”

First Heritage began as a wholly-owned subsidiary of American Heritage Credit Union. As of 2018, the following additional credit unions have purchased ownership in First Heritage: Service 1st Federal Credit Union, Erie Federal Credit Union, People First Federal Credit Union, Sun East Federal Credit Union, and Lebanon Federal Credit Union.
